Share Your Story

One of the best ways to influence change in our communities is to share personal impact stories, and this is especially important for members of the disability community.

By sharing a story about personal challenges and successes, people with disabilities and their families can be an advocate for improved disability services and inclusion in the community.

Use this form to share your personal story with Accord and help create positive change.

Why is it important to share my story?

One of the best ways to influence change in our communities is to share personal impact stories, and this is especially important for members of the disability community.

Elected officials – including state senators, state representatives, and city council members, to name a few – make important decisions about funding for programs and supports, as well as changes to policies, that affect persons with disabilities.

Donors and sponsors want to know how Accord makes a difference in the lives of others.

We hope to spread the word about the important programs and resources that Accord offers to support people with disabilities and mental health.

What should I share in my story?

You can share anything that feels important to you. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
  • Struggles/Challenges
  • Achievements/Triumphs
  • Advocacy Work
  • A single significant event that impacted you or someone you love

How will Accord share my story?

We will share your story on our social media channels and/or on our website. Please provide your contact information so that we can reach out to you if we need more information or photos to share. Thank you for allowing us to share your story!
