Minnesota Veteran Walks Again With Help From Exoskeleton

Vietnam Veteran Jim Dahlin has sufferd from Hereditary spastic paraplegia since age 50, a condition that had left him unable to walk.

But, all that changed thanks to the VA Spinal Cord Injury and Disorder Center in Minneapolis. The Center provided Dahlin with an exoskeleton to help with movement in his legs. He is now able to walk again with the life-changing technology.

There are currently 3 exoskeletons being used at the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorder Center, and just 10 models in total being used throughout the country. The technology costs about $70,000, but the Center is ensuring that veterans like Dahlin have first access to it.

Thank you to Jim and all those who have served in our military!
