2nd Annual Suicide Prevention & Awareness Benefit October 5, 2019
The 2nd annual Suicide Prevention and Awareness Minnesota Benefit is happening Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the ROC (SLP Rec Center Outdoor venue) in St. Louis Park, MN (3700 Monterey Drive). The event will feature live music, food trucks, a photo booth, prizes, and family fun. Festivities run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Laura from Tiny Acorn Portraits and Lisa from Synergy eTherapy are teaming up again to hold the 2nd Annual ‘Shout Out Loud’ suicide prevention and resource awareness charity event. Bringing clinical and personal experience together, the duo created their nonprofit where they raise money for other tax exempt nonprofits. Laura and Lisa volunteer their time to advocate for those who need them to shout out loud for them. The event grew out of their desire to do something with their advocacy.
The net proceeds from this year’s event will go to The PrairieCare Child and Family Fund, a charitable nonprofit organization (501c3) established in 2016 in the Twin Cities. Their purpose is to support mental health innovations in education, services, and research. They have granted over $360,000 to Minnesota schools. The grants are to help create sustainable education programs for district and program staff to better identify and work with kids who may be struggling with poor mental health.
The event will be family-friendly with a focus on mental and physical wellness activities for all ages to enjoy. Think of a backyard carnival with local bands, food trucks, & warm (or cold) drinks, and amazing raffle prizes.
